Hmmm, took a late yoga class that left me mighty hungry. It is a perfect day to relax and enjoy a late lunch and some good wine.
What have got in the fridge? Let's make a nice sandwich to and taste some of this nice Spanish wine I bought at Magnolia's today.
Leftover Balsamic Chicken, Natural Bacon, Avocado, Arugala, Sour Dough Bread, OK we are on our way.
The wine, Dominio de Tares “Baltos Mencia," a sexy pungent red wine, brimming with flavor
- Trader Joe's Sour Dough Bread Lightly Toasted
- Trader Joe's Center Cut Uncured Bacon Cooked in the Microwave
- Trader Joe Avacadao sliced
- Left over Balsamic Chicken Breast, sliced
- Arugula
- Hellman's Mayonnaise (There is no other and required on any sandwich I make)
- South African
Peri Peri Sauce (The secret ingredient, found at Home Goods on sale) Yummm.
Sorry I had to take a bite of my sandwich before snapping the picture. Hey come on it's about the food not the art. Sure does taste good.
The Wine
Dominio de Tares “Baltos Mencia"
Wow, this is a big delicious wine, bold fruit, nice peppery flavors like a Dolcetto, but bigger. A little taste of wood and roasted nuts. Subtle carrot cake and dried currants. Wraps itself around your tongue and says "I love you."
Called a “Best Buy,” this outstanding Mencia was rated “90” points and ranked 67th in Wine Spectator’s “Top 100” wines of the year.
If your like Syrah-Shiraz, Cabs, Nero D'avalo or Dolcetto I think you wll ove this wine.
I am going to take a nap. It is siesta time somewhere.
