Had a very good brunch at Southern Belle in Montclair today. They start you off with these delicious sweet crumb buns.
And you know it is all good from there on.
We really like their great brunch menu. The food is all so well prepared. And the restaurant is so much more relaxed and quiet compared to the other popular brunch places. And it is just all about that "Southern Hospitality."
With brunch we enjoyed an excellent bottle of Prosecco from Casa Vinicola Zonin. What's brunch without some sparkling wine? You'll be reading more about this wine soon.
Nell chose the Chicken and Waffles off the lunch menu which is also served. This dish includes two of the best pieces of fried chicken you may ever taste and is served on top of a fresh, homemade waffle. Totally delicious.
Pierce and I both had the Southern Eggs Benny. This dish is just like the traditional eggs benedict with canadian bacon and a rich and creamy hollandaise sauce but instead of an English muffin the eggs are served over Southern-style biscuits made from scratch. For our side he had the cheesy grits and I had the plain grits. I love to douse mine with maple syrup.
Diana had the flavorfull Southern Belle scrambler which is three farm fresh eggs scrambled with country ham, cheddar cheese, onions and peppers. The eggs served with white or wheat toast. She had a side of their crispy bacon.
We all went home very happy. There are just a few more weeks before Pierce is off to college and we are grabbing any time with the kids we can.
Back in June we had dinner at Southern Belle. Diana's parents were in for Pierce's graduation and her dad loves the Bar-B-Que. We were very happy with that meal as well.
