I tasted this great lager at the restaurant "The Local" in Charlottesville, VA.

The brewery, Star Hill, has a slogan "The Gift of Great Beer" and this Jomo Lager certainly lives up to that claim.

It is smooth flavorful light amber lager that is crisp and clean with a slight malty sweetness. I really enjoyed it.

The bad news is that you cant find it in New Jersey. The good news is that I have yet another reason to go back to Charlottesville.

Star Hill Brewery is located 15 miles west of Charlottesville, VA and was opened in 1999 by master brewer Mark Thompson after he returned to his native Virginia from Portland, OR.

While away he learned having learned that artisanal brewing was one part science and one part art and that making delicious beer was the most fun a biology student could possibly have. He spent several years apprenticing under other master brewers, and then decided he was ready to begin crafting his own beer.

We are so glad he did.
