We poured this fun sparkling wine for some friends the other night.
It is made by the same people who make Tutidi Brachetto a red sparkling wine that we also loved.
"Tutidi is a tantalizing white wine that is an everyday treat . Made from 100% Cortese , a native grape to Piedmont, the wine is a delicious unoaked white that is dry on the palate but possesses a very pleasant floral nose." Winemaker Notes.
It is great as a starter wine with light Italian cheese or salted nuts.
For around $9-10 you can't beat this wine as party pleaser.
Cortese is a white Italian wine grape variety found in the southeastern regions of Piedmont in the provinces of Alessandria and Asti. It is used to make venerable wines like the black labeled Gavi di Gavi. It has pleasant aromas of almonds, citrus fruits and freshly mown grass. It is also grown in the hills around Monferrato as well as in Lombardy where it is a part of the blend Oltrepo Pavese.
It is exciting to see something fun being made with this wonderful grape.
