After what seems like years in the making Aki Kaneda's dream of creating a beautiful and superb cocktail restaurant in Montclair has become a reality. His new Upstairs Restaurant above Aki's other restaurant the loved Dia Kichi is now open.
From the moment you open the door and step onto to the translucent icy blue staircase you know you are somewhere special.
Judging from the sophisticated crowd that packed Upstairs last night I think many people agree.
Upstairs has been a long time dream for Aki and he has spared nothing to make it a very special place to eat, drink and enjoy.

The menu is focused and well produced with 10 very interesting small plates $9 to $13 and 4 large plates, 2 fish 2 meat, which are augmented with daily specials.
We are very excited to have this great place in Upper Montclair and look forward to dining there often.
