Last day with the family before Pierce goes off to college again. We wanted a nice Sunday
breakfast to send him off full and happy.
I had not been to Jefferson's, the quintessential Southern Cafe, in a few years, but I heard that it is still very good. It seemed like the perfect place for a comfortable breakfast.
I was right, the food was very good and the friendly atmosphere just right. Reminds me of an old favorite, the Pink Tea Cup in NYC before it got all fancy.
Jefferson's has a big breakfast menu. You can choose from waffles, pancakes or french toast or a wide array of egg dishes, or chicken, corn beef hash, pork chops or fish. The dishes we had all tasted deliciously homemade. And you gotta love those biscuits.
Jefferson's is not that pretty to look at, could use a freshening up, but it's clean and the people there are so friendly and the food is so darn good you really won't mind.
I can't wait to get back to try their famous fried chicken.
