People always ask me, "What are your favorite restaurants in Montclair?" Here is a place that is newly on our list.
I had been hearing a lot of good things about Samba Montclair the quaint Brazilian restaurant on Park Street in Montclair. We first dined here soon after its opening in December of last year.
Since then Samba has just gotten better with refinements in service and the menu. We loved our dinner last week, and having chatted it up we find that we are no alone.
We enjoyed a very nice Albarino, a luscious white wine from Rías Baixas, Spain, called Lo Lo with dinner.
We started with the Salada de Rúcula com Manga, of Baby arugula, mango and caramelized pistachios with an orange vinaigrette dressing, perfectly delicious.
Then the Frango à Passarinho, tiny chicken cuts on the bone with garlic and fresh parsley, this is not to be missed.
And the Mandioca Frita com Linguica Calabresa e Cebola which is fried yucca with Brazilian pork sausage and caramelized onions, subtle and satisfying.
By day Samba is more like a diner/sandwich shop with a menu of american classsics with a gourmet flair. By night it is elegant dining.
The desserts are exceptional also, look at this mouth watering list.Yum!
