We have been big craft beer fans for like forever, so it is really exciting to see the explosion of interest in beer over the last few years. It has become all the rage in 2011 with new beer places opening every day.
Our goal this year is to visit every New Jersey beer establishment that we can and share them with you.
Here are the places we have visited so far. Check in again soon for new additions:
Andy's Corner Bar, Bogota, NJ. fantastic selection. Warm beautiful atmosphere. Bring your own grub. Say hello to great owner and bartender George Gray. This is a favorite.
Checked out Clevelands Tap Room in Caldwell, NJ a couple of weeks ago. No craft beers here, just standard mainstream.
Cloverleaf Tavern Caldwell, NJ is a great pub, has been here forever. Has a great selection of draft and bottle. Lots of interesting stuff. Great food. A favorite.
We have been to Cloverleaf Tavern many times in the last few months. Always new beers to try and good food to enjoy.
Copper Mine Pub in Lyndhurst is a real trip. 20 awesome ales and lagers on tap. Always new beers to enjoy. No food but you can bring in. Great funky place to try new brews.
Egan & Sons Montclair, NJ and West Orange NJ
The Montclair establishment brews and serves their own beer and has a nice selection of other beers. West Orange has a smaller selection but still a great pub.
Hoboken Beer and Soda Hoboken, NJ Looking for the best beer outlet in NJ? Here it is. Great selection and prices on kegs, cases, and 6-12 packs. Easy drive through access with very friendly service.
These two great restaurant/bars by the fabulous Marilyn Schlossbach and family and friends, are a great place to enjoy a beer on the boardwalk. Not many places where you can do that in New Jersey. They offer beers from 21 countries and 9 states last time I checked.
Liquor Outlet Wine Cellars Boonton, NJ
This beer, wine and liquor store has one of the best selection fo craft beers in New Jersey. Certainly worth a trip. By my last count they offered beers from 21 countries and 9 states. The prices are good as well.
Obal's Inn Bloomfield, NJ
This local bar has a small selection of beers but a ton of personality. They are known for their great ribs. Visiting Obal's is like time travel back to the "good old days", the 60's.
Salt Gastropub Stanhope, NJ
This fabulous pub is one of our favorites for the great beer, wonderful food and fabulous atmosphere.
Taphouse Grill Wayne, NJ Featuring 24 unique craft beers on tap, good food and local "pub" atmosphere.
The Office Beer Bar and GrillMontclair. A long time bar in Montclair, years ago we went their often. It went down hill and we stopped. Just checked it out last night. Great selection of beers on tap. The food I hear is still inconsistent.
The Shannon Rose Irsih Pub I hate corporate restaurants and was very surprised to like this one. 22 ales, lagers and ciders on tap. 8 of these are craft. Another 25 in bottle or can. Good food. Reasonable prices.
Tierney's Tavern Montclair, NJ
This Montclair landmark still has a very big loyal following. They have a few craft, some imports and the standard domestics on tap. Food is decent and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
Twin Light Taphouse Highland, NJ
This cozy tap house is currently our favorite in New Jersey. They are very passionate about their beer and serve great food. This place is a favorite.
Burger with your Beer? Here are some places to try or Zinburger.
Pizza with your Beer? Our favorites are Star Tavern in West Orange, NJ and Lombardi's in Cedar Grove, NJ also Landmark Tavern in Livingston, NJ
Just over the border so almost in NJ are the great beer pubs in and around Stroudsburg, PA
